You bring the garment to our studio, and we discuss what you need. This might be an alteration to improve fit, a repair to fix damage, or a custom piece to be created. We listen to your preferences and examine the garment together.
For alterations, we may ask you to try on the garment so we can see how it currently fits. This helps us understand what adjustments are needed and where they should be made.
Assessment
We examine the garment's construction, fabric, and current fit. For alterations, we mark the areas that need adjustment. We consider the garment's original design and how changes might affect its overall appearance.
During assessment, we identify any potential challenges, such as limited seam allowance, fabric that's difficult to work with, or structural elements that need to be preserved. We discuss these with you and explain our approach.
Planning
Before beginning work, we plan the alterations or repairs. This includes determining which seams to adjust, what techniques to use, and which threads and materials are appropriate. For custom garments, we may create a pattern or modify an existing one.

Work Begins
Using appropriate techniques and materials, we make the necessary changes. This might involve taking in or letting out seams, shortening or lengthening hems, repairing damage, or constructing a new garment. Each step is done carefully, with attention to detail.
During the work, we may need to press the fabric, finish seams, or make adjustments to ensure everything aligns properly. The pace is deliberate, allowing time for each step to be completed well.
Fitting Check
For alterations, we may ask you to try on the garment during the process to check the fit. This allows us to make any necessary adjustments before completing the work. For repairs or custom garments, we check the work at appropriate stages.
Fitting checks help ensure that the final result aligns with your expectations. We make any needed adjustments and continue until the work is complete.
Completion
When the work is finished, we check the result carefully. Seams are pressed, threads are trimmed, and the garment is inspected for any issues. You can try on the garment to ensure it meets your expectations.
Once you're satisfied with the result, the garment is ready to take home. We may provide care recommendations based on the work that was done and the fabric involved.
